We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a high-value groundworks and reinforced concrete (RC) frame package.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the commercial management of the project, overseeing the financial aspects from inception to completion.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor and manage costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and providing regular reports to the project team and senior management.
- Collaborate with the project team, including engineers, site managers, and subcontractors, to assess and manage contractual risks and variations.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure value for money.
- Prepare and administer contracts, including subcontract agreements and change orders.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify any potential cost or schedule impacts, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Manage and resolve any commercial disputes or claims that may arise during the project.
- Stay updated with industry trends, cost management techniques, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably on high-value groundworks and RC frame projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and commercial management practices.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and financial reports.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools, such as Excel and cost estimating software.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field are desirable.
