Our client is a main contractor specializing in construction projects across various sectors, including healthcare, commercial, and residential. They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and oversee the delivery of a £17 million hospital fit-out project in Central London.
The Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of this complex and high-profile hospital fit-out. Working closely with the project management team and stakeholders, you will manage the cost control, procurement, and financial aspects of the project from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and control the project’s budget and costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee procurement processes and contract negotiations, including sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and manage interim valuations and final accounts.
- Provide advice on contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor and report on project performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all contracts and variations.
Requirements:
- Experience managing projects valued at £10 million+ (preferably in the healthcare or hospital sector).
- Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (MRICS or working towards it is a plus).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
