A well established main contractor, seeking a detail-driven and proactive Pre Construction Planning Engineer to join their pre-construction team, helping to shape project programmes and secure successful tenders.
The Role:
As a Pre-Construction Planner, you will work closely with our bid, estimating, and project delivery teams, developing robust construction programmes that align with project requirements, client expectations, and industry best practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in securing work through competitive tenders and framework agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed and strategic pre-construction and tender programmes
- Work closely with bid teams to plan methodologies, sequencing, and logistics
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, frameworks, and industry standards
- Identify risks and opportunities in programme planning and provide innovative solutions
- Engage with estimators, designers, and project managers to ensure realistic and deliverable plans
- Use planning software (e.g., Asta Powerproject, Primavera) to develop, monitor, and update programmes
- Support the handover process from pre-construction to project delivery teams
What They’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Planner in construction or housing
- Strong knowledge of pre-construction planning, methodologies, and sequencing
- Experience working on projects secured through frameworks and public procurement routes
- Proficiency in Asta Powerproject, Primavera, or similar planning tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
