Description

A well respected construction consultancy is seeking a talented Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated team in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Offering a collaborative environment where your expertise will play a crucial role in the success of a diverse range of projects across the region.

This is a varied and interesting role, working as an individual or as part of a team and taking responsibility for commercial management on a diverse range of projects.

Your Role:

Support all aspects of quantity surveying/estimating from pre-contract through to post-contract services, along with assisting in the preparation of final accounts and claims in line with our client’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

  • Carry out estimating services including BQ production
  • Carry out quantity surveying services
  • Provide the lead on commercial and financial advice
  • Provide procurement and contract advice
  • Maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management on projects worked on
  • Commercially manage and control SC packages on projects worked on
  • Assist in the protection of the Company’s contractual position on projects worked on
  • Prepare final accounts and claim documents
  • Assist with the development of the business

Skills and experience needed

  • At least four years of industry experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Master's in a relevant qualification
  • Preferably qualified or eager to become CICES or RICS accreditation
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of planning software
  • Communicate effectively and build good working relationships
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to your job and the business
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • A full driving licence
